Step-by-Step Do-It-Yourself 'Photo Album' Tutorial

Hello, in this step-by-step picture tutorial, we are going to make a simple photo album with four pockets which hold the tags. This is my first tutorial, so, please bare with few mistakes. Do comment below and I will rectify them.

This photo album can be used for a school craft project, or as a simple birthday/anniversary gift for your loved ones. It can generally hold up to eight photo and quote tags.

Lets start off.

Materials required:

1. Cardboard of any colour/pattern (250-300 GSM)
2. Scoring Board/Ruler
3. Scissors
4. Glue/Tacky Tape
5. Pencil/Pen
6. Ribbon

Step-1

Take a 250-300 GSM cardboard of dimension 11.5 inches (length) by 5.5 inches (width). Keep the cardboard on a scoring board, and make two scores on the length, one at 1/2 inch and another at 6 inches. This will crease the cardboard into 3 sections of 0.5, 5.5 and 5.5 inches. 

Step-2

Now, fold the cardboard at the crease made in step-1 as shown.

Step-3

Now apply glue on the back side of the half inch fold. And stick the other end to half inch.
This will make a pocket which is open from both sides.

Step-4

Now make three more pockets of the same size, as shown in the image below.

You can make as many as pockets you want (if required).

Step-5

Now take another cardboard of 4 inch (length) by 5.5 inch (width).
Score the cardboard at every 0.5 inch up to 4 inch as shown in the image.

Now fold it in a alternate way as shown. And turn the cardboard to vertical direction.

Step-6

Now stick the each pocket holders to the folded cardboard as shown below.

Stick all the four folders one by one.

So now you can see the pockets holders on the below image which is stick to one another. And it has a space for the photo tags.

Step-7

Now lets make the outer part to give finish look to the photo album.

Take a cardboard of size 14.7 inch (length) by 5.8 inch (width).

Now divide the cardboard to 5 inch,  0.5 inch, 6.2 inch, 0.5 inch and 2.5 inch.

Refer the image for better understanding.

After doing the measurement, crease the line and fold it on each measurement as shown.

Step-8

Now apply the glue on 5 inch, 0.5 inch and 6.2 inch. Stick the pocket folder which is made in Step-6.

After sticking the finish product will look as shown on image below.

This is the final look of the photo holder.

Step-9

Now make four Photo tags of 5.5 inch (length) by 5.4 inch(width). 

Step-10

Place the photo tags in the photo holder as shown.

And tie the Photo album with a black ribbon to make it more attractive.
